Black and white rose
A new gown in the Fall / Winter 2024 group.
I haven’t decided yet if its going to be a group or a collection. The difference is an additional 15 or so outfits.
This gown started with silk fabric that I printed on my inkjet printer.
I wanted to use fabrics that are contemporary and the silhouette of the gown very 50’s. I also wanted to use cut shapes from the condensed foam that I started using in previous outfits. Kind of a bit 3d structural elements that I cut on my Cricut machine.
So, I opted to use a similar rose pattern to cut as the roses on the fabric.
The fabric is silk, and the dress lining is black china silk.
The dress is fitted at the top, sleeveless and has a boat neck. The lower part is fully gathered and gives the 50’s cocktail look to the dress.
Once I put the dress together, I started applying the foam roses. I cut them in two sizes and placed them randomly on the dress.
I attached the roses by adding a black bead and sewed it together.
The jewelry is made of freshwater pearls for the earrings, Swarovski glass pearls for the bracelet.
The gloves have 4 fingers slots, and it will take a bit of time to put on. They are made of stretch red knit.
The dress comes with black tights and black suede mid-calf boots.
Doll is not included.
